After a short rest the party moves North. Facing them in the corridor is a Mintour, who caves in the 3 north Entrances. Whilst clearing the east entrance 2 goblins attack who are quickly despatched. Making their way through the maze, they trigger a pressure plate that fired quarrels formerly covered in poison. Trym found and disarmed 2 more traps - hallway arrows and a pendulum axe. They come to a door with a picture of a famous Dwarf in a sleeping pose. Kildrake suggests all falling asleep as the way to enter. Squall suggests this is not the right thing to do . Kildrake falls asleep, and in a dream state is able to open the door. Inside are various dwarven cutlery items and dwarven iron Squall takes to sell. Coming to the next room the wooden door is chopped down. Again containing kitchen items, barrels, mundane except for messages scrawled in blood on the roof: “Mother how could you” and “Freedom”
The party then notice those two messages and “Please” on the 3 north passages. Moving to the east exit of the centre room, the Minotaur again appears and smashes the wall. Whilst Ereborn is Clearing the rubble away, the Minotaur runs in from the opposite doorway and grabs Salazar and runs out , smashing the west wall behind him. Salazar has a good firm hold put on him and dumps him into a small room and closes him in via locked gate.
The room is littered with eaten children and goblins, a pot and a small sleeping mat. Salazar escapes through a small passage and calls the party, covered in faeces and blood, who find him. And the Minotaur again appears. Squall grapples the Minotaur, but he again escapes. Heading to a North East room, Ereborn is visually upset with Dwarven Skeletons set up at a table. Sensing something is not right, Ereborn asks Salazar to detect magic. A mirror glows and shows an image of the dwarves in the mirror the missing items not shown in the room of a tankard, a plate and a necklace. Finding these items and placing them on the table, the mirror disappears, revealing a safe and a box key.
The party heads north again and uses the box key, revealing a large ante chamber with 25 goblins and a goblin King surrounding the Minotaur, who shouts “Freedom!”. The party charges in and the battle is joined. Though confused that the party attacks the Goblins, he hurts kildrake with his slashing axe. Zorron tried sleep which doesn’t impact the Minotaur but puts 2 goblins to sleep. Squall engages the Goblin king, whilst Kildrake responds by Laying on Hands on the Minotaur. A smart move from the Paladin after sensing that the evil Goblins would use the Minotaur to attack and kill the party. He looks puzzled as his wounds begin healing. Squall smashes the Goblin king and Salazar fires off magic missiles on the goblins. The Goblin King urges the Minotaur to kill the party, but instead he attacks the Goblins. Ereborn casts a spiritual weapon on the Goblin King as kildrake breathes his lightning breath. Salazar cast a flaming sphere killing 2 more goblins as the Minotaur charges and gores 2 more goblins killing them. Zorron puts 2 goblins to sleep and the Minotaur again gores multiple goblins and 6 run away.Ereborn kills another with his spiritual weapon and Salazar again lights them up with the flaming sphere.
Killing the remainder, the Minotaur discusses going to a quiet place to be left alone and free. Ereborn and Kildrake suggests the Druid grove, and assured him they would speak to the town leader to arrange it. The session ends with the party searching the remainder of the rooms in the maze for any loot, and escorting the Minotaur to the Druid Grove.
See you all on 12th July.
