Ereborn studies the sky castle Stonework in the Courtyard, divining it to be of high elf in Nature, 800-1000 years old.
Checking the Entrance, Tyrm opens the door into a chamber, lit by torchlight, with an elderly Major Domo (highest servant) High elf, named Merriweather standing there to greet them. As the stonebearers cross the threshold, the courtyard light turns from day to night and all except Ereborn and Zorron momentarily fall unconscious. When they come to, they are led to a throne room, king Kaligby.
He reveals 1000 year old artisan works were raised into the sky , but has been under attack by Eaglardi due to the castle being placed on Eaglardi burial ground and eagle hawk breeding ground. As such he has been trapped in a 1000 year war. He sent tendrils through time via opening a chronoscope to seek the Stonebearers, and needs their help to set things right, and will give them his crown as a prize.
The party understand that Chronostorms flow through the castle, where things constantly change so they have to use their time effectively. Kaligby tells them that they can move through time, but time can also move through them. The party turns down a lit hallway and find odd stonework that when touched, collapses into a ramp leading to the ramparts above. Ereborn and Trym walk up to see a swirling storm and they age a year, and quickly running back down the ramp as Salazar warms them about the ageing effects of going outside.
Going through the main chamber they go to another room, opening up into a masquerade ball, with a much younger King Kaligby. Kildrake tries calling out to and approach the King but is ushered away by guards.
They find a blood stain on a wall that leads to a cupboard where the servant that showed them into the room was stuffed into, killed by a stiletto to the neck.
Moving back into the room, they see what is apparently the dead servant talking to a group of feathered masqueraders they recognise as disguised Eaglardi there to kill the captain of the guard to lower the Castles defences.
Raising the alarm, they realise the servant is a doppelgänger! Trym moves in and successfully sneak attacks, wounding him significantly.
Ereborn moves in and attacks and hits, but hit in return and the doppelgänger took his form to confuse the party. Salazar used detect magic to advise which to attack, Kildrake hitting him with his glaive.
The Doppelgänger retreated, as the 4 Eaglardi who flew off then smashed through window ceiling to protect it, and the doppelgänger then also took their form. Salazar luckily hit it with a magic missile, killing it, and then Zorron stunned the party, and the party goers, by placing a shatter spell in the middle of the Eaglardi, immediately killing all four instantly in one hit!
